GIAT HISTORY

Giat is founded in 1957 by Mr. Michele Bocca when he patents a new gasket for electric oven door. Mr Bocca’s solution proves revolutionary and after only three years Giat becomes leader in the market with a yearly production of 30 million pieces.

In the 70’s Giat enters the energy, rail and thermoplastic fields, and years later, in 1992, starts to operate its first silicone extrusion line.

In the 2000’s Giat internationalizes its operations and in 2007 Giat Poland is founded. Thanks to its expertise in the field Giat is able to replicate the success in the new polish subsidiary, which today represents a third of Giat total turnover.

In 2014 Giat extends its reach outside Europe, in Middle East and Eastern Asia.
